A modern approach to bolt on neck design starts with involving many of the design concepts used on our thru-neck basses.
The initial production of the necks is the same as the thru necks. The neck blank is laminated, a slab 48"x6"x2", this makes one thru neck or two bolt on necks (matched pair necks come from the same blank)
Important design points are balance, access and comfort as well as the overall aesthetic appeal.
The necks are secured to the body using recessed hex bolts, hex inserts are fitted to the necks to assure a perfect fit. This design allows the minimum of heel and excellent access to the upper frets.
Fingerboards are all made from premium woods or from composite which is available on most models. Necks are lacquered in satin polyurethane lacquer which gives the 'played in' feel.
Bodies are available in a wide variety of core woods all selected for tone, grain structure, weight and stability. Drop-tops are available on certain models - quilt, flame maple, 'strange' burrs to name a few. Bodies are finished in polyurethane, polyester / polyurethane depending on the model.
